Exciting Ernest News

Ernest has started the year in a big way .. Jesse the Elephant is one of the feature books in this year's MS Read-a-thon, has once again been included in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge AND we are very excited to announce that Ernest has a new publisher Kingsclear Books. Book number 2 is on it's way

Ernest at the Epping Festival.

Ernest & Scott Allen will be at the Epping Festival in Sydney this coming Sunday. There will be a great colouring competition for children, with the winner receiving a family pass to Taronga Zoo. Happy colouring!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Ernest would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & a Happy & Healthy New Year. 2010 will be very exciting for Ernest with the release of the second book in the series "The Invasion" & also a colouring & puzzle book about Ernest, Jesse & the crew.

ERNEST PENCIL SKETCHES

The book The adventures of Ernest Little Tug "Jesse the Elephant" final illustrations were generated on the computer using Photoshop & Illustrator. However, every illustration & character started of course with a hand drawn sketch. Here are some pencil sketches of Ernest.

TEDDY THE DOG

Teddy the Dog is Ernest's best friend & travels with Ernest through all of his adventures. Most of the boats in the Ernest series are based on real boats that have existed on Sydney Harbour throughout the last century. Teddy is also based on a real dog ... the real Teddy (although a little older than the Teddy in the book) is happy, energetic & very inquisitive. Here is Teddy reading about his adventure with Jesse the Elephant.

ERNEST & JESSE 2010 PREMIER'S READING BOOK LIST

The NSW Education Dept has ACCEPTED Ernest the Little Tug "Jesse the Elephant" to be part of the 2010 Premiers Readers Challenge Book List, distributed to every school in NSW. This is wonderful news for the Ernest team. We know the kids will LOVE Ernest, Jesse & the rest of the crew & also learn about the history of our magnificent Sydney Harbour.
